Hi, I'm Paul.

As a model (a long time ago!), I gained a wealth of experience in what works, what doesn't, and how to make an image look "just that little bit different". Having the opportunity to work with some amazing photographers , I'm now able to use that knowledge to create images that capture my own style - and hopefully, the best of a model's.

_____________________________________________________________

Having sat on both sides of the lens, I can offer a unique perspective. You don't find me model-bashing, nor will you find me complaining about photographers : I've been both, I know the positives and negatives of each role. I do, however, have some pretty simple "standards" and I'm going to be as up-front and transparent as possible in putting these out there (figure it's best to be clear from the outset!)

1. Expectations.

My job is to paint you with light; Yours is to give me something to paint. My images need more than a blank canvas - they need expression, feeling, motion and energy. I expect this of my models just as they can expect the same of me.

You can expect me to turn up bright-eyed and full of energy - that means we'll create some great images together. However, if YOU turn up bright-eyed and full of energy as well, we'll create AMAZING, BREATHTAKING, UNIQUE, EXCEPTIONAL images together. Now, doesn't that sound more like it? - So make sure you do!

I do not turn up late to photoshoots - and I don't expect you to either, HOWEVER, "sh*t happens" and I understand. PLEASE get in touch the second you think there MAY be a problem and 9 times out of 10, we can work it out. It's not possible to work things out *after* the shoot is due to start!

2. Nobody works for free.

Models have to make a living, photographers have to make a living - so do MUA's, stylists, clothing designers, in fact, everyone does! So why all the arguing, people?! My simple view of the world is as follows:

If I'm doing the hard work and bringing the ideas (for portfolio shoots), you pay me. (You get retouched images included)

If you're doing the hard work and I've approached you (for a specific concept I had in mind) I'll pay you. (You can get copies of retouched images for a cost or in exchange for a discounted rate)

If we're both putting equal amounts in (collaboration), well, that's what TFP refers to. (You get copies of retouched images included, I get your effort, style and ideas thrown in.)

3. Locations.

I'm "based" in the South of England, and this is where my primary areas of work are (unless travelling abroad).

I work all over the UK, but have a studio in London where most of my shoots take place. If you want to shoot on location, I have several "up my sleeve" or we can talk about anywhere you'd like to use also. My travel time is included within the time I'm booked for, unless we're working in one of the studios.

4. Rates.

If I'm paying, we'll talk about your rate beforehand.

If you're paying, my standard rate is £500 for a full portfolio shoot. Bear in mind that a photographer's rate includes studio costs as well as the (not insignificant) retouch time afterwards. That includes up to 10 retouched images and the general aim is for 2 per "look". (That said, if we generate a million "killer" images - while it may take me some time, you'll find I'm up for retouching a few more ;-)

Make-up artists and stylists are included in that rate where we're studio shooting - but where we're on location, we'd need to discuss beforehand. My rate includes any expenses for studio work (or local locations), but not if the shoot is outside of a 50 mile radius from either studio - we can talk about this beforehand.

5. TFP/Testing

YES, I am "up for" TFP - I think it's a great way for both parties to learn new concepts and try new things. HOWEVER, it's very much dependent on what concept you're planning to bring to the table; how you want to achieve it; and if I have availability that fits in with your time.

That said, if you have an idea - I'm always open to them, so let me know!
_____________________________________________________________

All that aside, I hope you enjoy the images I've created already - and hope to work with a lot of you in future :-)

Paul.
