Answering a young ladies post I had thsi question raised.

Some photographers apparently told her since they did not think she could model to the levels she wanted she must do nude. Its the word 'must' that bothers me.

Your thoughts?

thats awful, im a nude model but ive do that from enjoyment of empowerment 
and out of fun of art.

surely being told that would brake your confidence making it harder todo nude modeling!
they could of at least said "because you have a great body....."

Any model stupid and gullible enough to be pushed beyond levels they're happy with deserves any future regrets.



Likewise, any so-called 'photographer' who gets named and shamed for trying it on deserves what they get too.

right too, dont be pushed into anything you dont want to, think ther eshould be a name and shame....or is that a bit harsh.

No one has to do anything they don’t want. The days of slavery are long gone.There is no way in hell I could paint/draw or photograph a model if they felt pressured into a genre they don’t usually work.There should be a collaboration between artist/tog  and model with input from both.  The number of beautiful figure models out there always astounds me (most are too far away from me), so why try to advise models to go down a path they aren’t happy with.With perseverance a career can still be carved out by finding their niche. 

Nobody demanded that the model must do nude - it was pointed out to her that she was more likely to get paid work if she did nude level.

EVERYONE,

I am the model who is being told that I would best get paid for doing nude and I think it's an outrage, it's only because I am a newbie model and I'm short too

I think it is wrong that I should be penalised for being short when I know I can do better than nude... I would never be gullible or stupid enough to be pushed into doing nude, if anything I'd just give up, only if there was no hope that is, but there us hope for me yet.
 I refuse to give up, I will model and that's that, no dumb stereotype is going to stop me, there are plenty of short models and as for being new, well I won't be if I build my portfolio, I just need some help, photoshoots... it can be a problem for one who has no money to travel anywhere, i feel totally inflexible but it's what you get when you are dirt poor, I just need a little help, reimbursements would do the trick, help with costs and directions

Also there may be a misunderstanding that people think I can't model, I think they just mean that as a newbie, it is too much to ask of photographers to pay a lot of money straight away without a lot of experience, and not that they think I just don't fit the bill.
It's as if they are saying well it takes no experience to do nude so all newbies who want to get paid can only expect to get offered nude.

This is bogus really as, if a photographer were to pay me, they would be getting the poses that they want so they could just tell me how to pose since it's their money
