Hi all Members of Net-Portfolio your opinion matters to meI have joined this Site on the 23.09.2009 and I was very enthusiastic about it, so I signed up for a full Platinum Membership (£60.00) to get full use of the site and can upload a great deal off Pictures (which were fine at the time I uploaded them) so after a Year of Membership I run in to some Private matters and I couldn’t follow my activities as much as I would have liked to so my full Membership run out in the mean time. As I couldn’t renew it in time the host of the Site was deciding my Pictures I uploaded and got Reviews and Comments for, they war not up to scratch anymore so they took off most of my Portfolio witch I understand” I payed for at the Time” and say they are no good anymore. I can understand I haven’t renewed my membership and they would restrict me in future activities but tacking Pictures of my Port I have already paid for I thought is wrong. Before I make a decision to upgrade again I would like to ask you for your views on this? Don’t get me wrong I still think this is a great site but what you payed for at the time should remain on your Port anybody can run in some sort of difficulties I think! So before I decide to renew or not let’s hear it from you...Cheers Andreas

It's a bit like renting space.
When you stop paying the rent, you have to vacate the space - a bit like a studio or a shop.

Last week I paid £2.40 to park in Plymouth...I think if I go back there tomorrow and park in the same place without paying they would give me a ticket! Should I write to the council to complain about this?

Your year = 365 days.... now time is up so pay another year it's as easy as that. Think leasehold not freehold.
Lecture over you may now continue.

Thanks for the lecture and I understand all that but if I take out a rent for somethink I know it is for a month or a year or so I didnt know when I payed the 60 quit on here it would only be for 12 month. I should have read the small print if ther was any of that it is not like you go in to a shop and bay a digital photoframe and you got that forever because this is what I thought it was ...sorry for not knowing supose I have to think of renting again for 12 month.........

I just looked at the membership upgrade page on here and it clearly states that the cost is "per year" therefore all the benefits of enhanced membership are for that term.
It's nothing to do with renting anything, it's about buying a service. You bought the service, the site delivered on that agreement. At the end of the year there was the opportunity to renew that contract. You chose not to pay for an enhanced membership level.
What you did do, by not removing yourself from the site was enter into a new contract with the site, based on their Bronze level service and, as far as I can tell, you agree that they are providing the service as per that contract.
Hope this finally clarifies the situation for you.

I was about to say the same thing. I would also say that I think you have misunderstood how your images were chosen to be removed. You said that they were not good enough for the site anymore as you were free now and not paying, I contacted them to clarify this as I was concerned that standards are different for paying vs non paying.
It seems this is not what they do as I expected. They just removed your images to bring you down to free level, the choice of image had nothing to do with standards. Maybe the language barrier caused an issue there so I hope that helps.
I would also say that at £60 a year, just £5 a month advertising for your business that if you can't afford that kind of investment then maybe you should close up shop. One trade from this site in a year and I would expect the investment was more than worthwile.
That's why I am premium, it is so cheap (I personally think they should charge more) that if I get one retouch job from here I cover my membership easily. Mine was covered within a few weeks from a little marketing myself on forums, anything else I get now is a bonus. To me it is a no brainer and I really do not understand how anyone, at these prices, has to even think about it.
