Need help. Probably very easy to someone who is adapt with photoshop but no matter where i look i cant find how to do it (although a book is on the cards soon)
I have seen ppl remove an item/person from one pic and place them into another i.e person photographed somewhere and removed and put into somewhere else. How do you get both pics into the layer section. I am using CS5 but i just cant find anywhere how to do that easy part.

Hi Roy,
I am using elements 7 and extracting a precise outline of my intended subject to copy and paste between layers is also proving a struggle.....
If I get there, I'll give you a shout!
Regards,
Glenn

Hi,
I use CS4 but the same principles should apply.
Load the image that you want to put the cut out item onto.
Also load the image that you want to cut the item from and create a second layer. There are lots of ways to cut out items and people, but to keep it simple say we use the quick selection tool to select the item we want to cut out.
Once you have selected the item and cut it out, right click the cut out layer and choose ‘duplicate layer’, this brings up a selection box. For the destination, select the name of the other image you have open in Photoshop (the one you want to enter the cut out on). Press OK.
Now if you go to the image you want to add the cut out to, you will see a layer with the cut out on, and you can now work on that layer.
Very basic guide there but should get you started...

Thanks i have tried and it does work. Only problem i have now is that both files have to be near the same size or you either get a small pic on the image or a massive one. but its a start and i can now work through it.

Always use a point-to-point clipping path rather than a magic wand or lasso selection to cut-out. That way you can control the detail of curves and corners very precisely and, by adding a small feather (1 or 2 px) to the selection when you are ready to cut or paste, still retain a natural edge.
Re-size the donor image and/or the target image so they are of a similar size before pasting part of one into another.
