I'm using Adobe Photoshop CS3 at the moment and wondering if anyone has any tips on how to get stunning eyes that will stand out in a image?
Tried a few ways but nothing seem's to work!
Thanks Amy x

Good lighting on the original photograph is essential. Some model's eyes sparkle, some just don't.
What I would do is duplicate the layer, adjust the brightness, contrast, hue and saturation until you are happy with the eyes, delete the rest of the image and then merge the layers back together again.
It's a quick and dirty solution that sometimes works although I generally tend not to bother if its not in the original pic.
I hope that helps.

I saw a tutorial once to enhance the eyes. This is a basic summary.zoom in on the photo, and use the burn tool(very small brush size) around the rim of the cornea(i think thats what its called, the coloured part of the eye anyway)and then use the dodge tool just inside that to lighten the outer portion of the coloured part.If not overdone this can really make the eyes stand out whilst still looking natural! hope this helps

create an adjustment layer using curves and add a mask. push the curves to extreme, then using a 50% soft edge brush, just brush in the eyes.
Picture shoud now look like a gould from stargate. reopen the curves adjuster and dial it down until you're happy with the result

I use the dodge an burn method - then make a selction of the eye and change brightness and contrast also making a note of settings for the other eye - drag the selction over and do again - if i need to i also then go to adjustments and use the color adjuster to change the color of the eye or boost the color - there are some great video clips / tutorials on u-tube - google " how to alter / boost eyes in photoshop" and they will come up - very easy to follow and the whole process takes less than a few minutes once you get good at it :) It really does transform you pictures once you get the hang of it !!
