Topic | Can we have a competition please np.whos in?
GlossyPinkLipstick
I am a memeber of several sites and recently entered the monthly free competition on one.
To my surprise i did reasonably well, with a headshot,(not this one) considering i went up against "Boobs,Bush, and Butt" images, not surprisingly a nude image won, but hey!.
Could we have a competition on here please NP.It would be fun enable simple critique by voting and challenge us all to aim for something.
You could even do some sort of deal with the winner for rights or whatever if you wished.
Im sure if Mr Farrar (Brightonian) enters we all get a good hiding but as far as im aware he hasnt found us here yet hehe!
What Say you, you lovely NP people...... Member Image

Great Idea.  Get a few people on board who are respected for their critique  (not me I hasten to add) and we are off!

I can see a lot of politics going into it...I keep seeing some guy's same ordinary photo to say least in the comments boxes who comments a lot of other people photos!
but the compition is a Brilliant Idea..I nominate Barone and I would ask him if he nominates other judges :)

You-re trouble is that you associate the degree of ability of a photographer with their competence for critique.

The simple reality is that someone may not be the best photographer but they certainly may be able to give a much more coherent commentary on images.

The real issue in something like this is the immaturity of certain contributors to be able to understand and accept a genuine, erudite critique.  They're often the ones with pretty lousy work but an ego which cannot recognise it as such  Member Image

John Barone turns out some great images but I, for one, am unsure about his track record for critique, given that it is something I don't recall him having done much of over the past few years.

Does this mean you're ego managed to recognise you're own?

I really hate swearing but I can't avoid it when you're involved;

How many times do I have to tell you to **** off..not interested in anything you got to say, you seem in you're own mind you have given you're self some sort of status as an expert and intellect and some sort of photographic wise man and using this (he's bad at taking criticism) as a weapon!
just go away will you..you're like a fly in my living room..can't seem to be able to get rid of it.
the op trying to start a competition so put you're issues with other people on the side.

No idea what this means "Does this mean you're ego managed to recognise you're own?"

The forums are public. People are allowed to express opinions. They aren't all about you.

If you are so offended by anyone, other than you, expressing their own opinion (God forbid it doesn't coincide with yours) then why don't you follow your own advice and **** off yourself.

Very kind of you chris but, unfortunately, I don't smoke and so couldn't blow it up certain people's arses.

mate you think you're intelligence is superior to other's when infect it's not, you obviously meant me without directly naming me fully knowing that I will know you mean me then when I get offended and respond then you'll say yeah but I didn't mean you, you must be thinking that you are what I described!

I have been ignoring you're posts and was hoping you ignore mine but you seem to have it for me? why is that? exchanging such posts brings the worst in me, which is something I don't like, so don't quote anything from me or respond to my posts unless I addressed you directly!

Hook line and sinker studioio. This is a game Jeremy plays and is quiet good at it all to see how much he can rattle someone.

No, no, I definitely meant you.  Surely that was abundantly clear.

If you don't mind I will contribute to the forums as I see fit and not at your discretion or direction.

As to your abusive outbursts I think you'll find they make no impression whatsoever.  I only take notice of that sort of childishness if it is directed at me in person  Member Image

PS  Let this thread, at least, get back on track.  I know you love hijacking everyone's threads but as you seem to think this is entirely personal then PMs would seem more appropriate.

then why did you say:

The forums are public. People are allowed to express opinions. They aren't all about you.

then you say you meant me..
this goes to proves without a doubt you're posts are meant not to make an authentic point but a political one, such games which threatens the authenticity of such competition..you're judgements are not trustworthy by any measure not to mention you're mental issues.
yeah let the thread go back to it's original subject if you haven't killed it already with your sick posts.

Well is this what its come down to a slanging match? for the rest of us who would like a FRIENDLY competition could we please tone it down a bit public forum or not your squabbling is just a bit tiresome! Where are the moderators - do these two squabble and ruin every thread on these sites therefore ruining them for others?

Back on track is anyone going to organise this or will it be an N.P. thing and after all the above is any one now going to be interested?
