No critique needed Ian, You know my thoughts.  These watercolours are inspiring me no end.  I spent six hours yeterday on a pencil portrait but I've got to try something along the line of what you've produced.  People don't realise that watercolour is one of the most difficult mediums to master as it's nigh on impossible to cover mistakes as you can with oil and acrylic.  Just out of interest how long does it take you to do one of these paintings?

Thank you for your kind words...these two portraits were started as class demos (I teach watercolours five times a week). The one of Amy took about four hours in total and about the same for Jenna...it's hard to be specific as a lot of the time is spent just looking long and hard, then making fine adjustments. But you are right in what you say about watercolour...it's always trying to trip you up when you think to yourself that you have mastered it!
