What is the best way to blend out tan lines like the two lines at the top of the legs in this picture?



Im thinking about painting in on a layer then droping the opacity a bit but Im not sure its the best/easiest way...

Hi,

Erm, firstly I am amazed when you saw the 'burn lines' you didn't tell her to leave. Tough one this...

Fortunately her legs are pretty clearly exposed so selecting just the leg shouldn't be too tricky.

I would select the legs only, then use the clone tool or patch tool to take a sample from the redder part of the leg and clone/patch it over the top parts. Best done if using clone with say 50% opacity as you clone to add the colour as you need until it matches.

Next I'd try and drop the colour tone of the red to match the normal skin colour, again this will be very tricky. This can be done, it will take along time to look right. If it was me, a touch up this big, I'd chuck the shot and start again.

To explain in detail how to fix this would be too difficult I am afraid, I hope the above puts you on the right track. It can be done though.

Hey Nige.
  Just use the colour replacement brush in the tools, pretty simple to use that one.
